My name is Attica Scott. I am a mother and an activist, and in 2016 I defeated a 34-year incumbent to become the first Black woman elected to the Kentucky General Assembly this century. I am running for Kentucky's third Congressional district.
In my decades of public service, I have fought for policies that will uplift everyone -- from the south end to the west end and all across our city. But it’s not only a question of working on the issues that affect our people. The fact is, I’ve lived these same issues.
I believe that justice is an action, and only showing up to listen isn’t enough. It’s time for the inequities that have existed for decades to finally be addressed.
